Multi-activity centre offering surfing, abseiling, caving, climbing, biking, boarding canoeing and more for families, schools, businesses and other groups. With a strong proven track record in campaigning and communications, sustainability and environmentalism, AGoS focuses on positive solutions to problems, creating the environment and agenda for change, and making a difference to the world in which we all live.
Big Blue Surf School
Big Blue are based in Bude and have taught some 30,000 people how to surf over the past decade. They offer great family days out, one-to-one coaching, beginners, intermediate and advanced classes, surfing lessons for kids and schools, special female-only groups, plus dedicated corporate or club events. Staff have British Surfing Association qualifications, and Big Blue also offer tuition via sign language or for disabled children and those with autism.
Black Galleon
This electric-acoustic duo make wonderful music, an uplifting mix of Celtic folk-rock. Visit their site to hear their song about the Sea Pool; ‘Pool of Dreams’. Dr Kathryn Ferry
Author of several books which celebrate the best of British seaside life, Kathryn Ferry is an independent architectural historian, writer and lecturer. Her research interests include seaside history and Victorian architecture, and she is now the national beach hut expert. Dr Ferry is a committed supporter of Bude Sea Pool.
Gecko Head Gear Ltd
Gecko was formed in 1995 and specialise in the design and manufacture of marine safety helmets and supply emergency, rescue, military and police forces all over the world. Dr Alice Roberts, MB BCh BSc
Best known for her television programmes (‘Coast’, ‘The Incredible Human Journey’, ‘Horizon’, ‘Don’t Die Young’ etc), Alice supports Bude Sea Pool, and made a programme on Wild Swimming for BBC4 last year. She says: ‘I have been amazed at the response from the public, and the importance of wild swimming to our nation. However, the north Cornish Coast is not always the safest place to swim, and so I recognise that this Sea Pool provides a safe place for adults and – very importantly children – to swim in seawater. The benefits of swimming are obvious, and it would be immensely sad if this much-loved pool were to be closed.’

Surfers Against Sewage
SAS is a not-for profit environmental pressure group focused on the protection of the UK’s oceans, waves and beaches for all to access, use and enjoy safely and sustainably, via campaigning, volunteering, conservation, education and scientific research. A group of Cornish surfers formed SAS in 1990 to take grassroots action to stop the sewage pollution at their local surf breaks in Cornwall. They now represent all recreational water users in the UK and campaign to protect the coastal environment for all to enjoy, and promote a clean and safe water environment.

Clive Symm shoots beautiful photographs of the people and perspectives which can be captured with a clever lens in and around Bude. As well as providing bespoke wedding and commercial photography, Clive can also freeze-frame magical moments in the surf. Most of his photos are also available as prints; all of them inspire admiration.
